Treehouse Paintings

Atmospheric backgrounds filling the edges of the canvas with leafless driftwood-like trees as the figure. The tree is naked and bare but not lifeless. The support for a treehouse is the tree. The treehouse becomes part of the shelter of the tree like the canopy. The structure built in a tree isn’t perfect, it merges and conforms to the support it gets from the branches. It creates an escape, a place of solitude and peace. The snapshot of a moment and the idea of home, a quiet hideaway, someplace lost in time, a memory.
